This song began being born in my heart during the last week of February 1996, as I was being oppressed by the enemy and confusion seemed to be all around me. During the days between when the song was begun and when it was finished, a terrible accident took place in nearby Muskogee. A mother and her two sons were involved in an accident with a freight train. The mother and her six-year-old were killed. One son lived and another had stayed home that day. One minute the family was there, and the next, half of them were gone. Several families in our church were affected by this tragedy. God showed me at that time that this song was for our Body and for that family as a reminder that God is still in control, even when (especially when) we don't understand why such terrible things have to happen. May the words and boldness of the music cause you to rise up and bless God as the One who reigns through any tragedy–through any trial. He is the Giver of Life, even in death, and He rules and reigns over it all...forever.
